How deathstroke994 would fix the levels in Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Prequel Trilogy
Here's how I'd fix the Prequels (Remove the challenges too and have 10 minikits instead)
The Phantom Menace
- 1. Negotiations - Make it an actual level instead of a hub event. Have it be kinda like Complete Saga but a bit longer and have the end basically be the Invasion on Naboo bit from Complete Saga as well. Basically this level would be the first Complete Sagas levels revamped and I think it would be a way better start than just a massive strech of hub events that will confuse new players.
- Pre Level - Gungan City
- 2. Escape From Naboo - As for the actual first level in Skywalker Saga, have it be the opening section of this level and maybe design it better because it is one of the lamest LEGO levels of all time. However most of this level should revolve around you rescuing The Queen and Panaka like in Complete Saga, instead of it just being a freaking pre-level for the thousandth time.
- Pre Level - Watto's Junkshop
- 3. Mos Espa Podrace - Keep it the same, this level is great and even though it's short, it actually feels like a proper level surprisingly.
- Pre Level - Coruscant Senate Building
- 4. Darth Maul - Before the Darth Maul bit, they should have an opening section similar to the Retake Theed Palace level from Complete Saga. However most of the levels should obviously be the Better Call Maul level and I don't think they need to change it at all because it's a perfect Darth Maul fight.
- Pre Level - Lake Paonaga
- 5. Battle of Naboo - Combine the final two levels from Phantom Menace for this one, however significantly improve Outmanned But Not Outgunganned because it is a terrible level. Instead of it just being Jar Jar fixing some catapults and fighting a couple of battle droids, it should've been like one of the massive ground battles from Clone Wars or even one of the army battles from Lord of the Rings. Either one would be a million times better than what we got. The Anakin's Flight bit can stay the same though, it's perfectly fine but it just doesn't really stand out on it's own.
Attack of the Clones
- 1. Bounty Hunter Pursuit - Remove that pointless scene on the landing pad and just immediately start the movie with a better version of this level. Instead of it being a boring on-rails-shooter for two year old's, the level design should've been more like Pirates of the Caribbean or Indiana Jones with the epic car chase platforming sections. A level designed like that would have been amazing instead of the trash level that we got.
- Pre Level - Dexter's Diner
- 2. Hunt For Jango - Have the first half of this level be Obi-Wan chasing Jango Fett on Kamino, kinda like the section in Complete Saga. Then they could have the vehicle portion in the second half, instead of the horrible decision that they made in real-life to make that stuff in the open world. It's like these developers forgot what the point of levels are in videogames.
- Pre Level - Tusken Raider Village
- 3. Droid Factory - At this point the game starts going way uphill in quality and compared to a lot of the mediocre levels that came before it, this level is great and I don't think it really needs to be changed all that much
- Pre Level - Geonosis
- 4. Petranaki Arena - Keep the creature battle and the Jango fight the same, however add way more droids and make it more intense. Maybe add the Jedi approaching the arena too as a section. Also make Coleman Trebor a playable character idiots!
- Pre Level - Geonosis
- 5. Battle of Geonosis - Start the level with a ship section kinda like Complete Saga but actually good and maybe a big army battle too, and then have the Count Dooku bit at the end. The Count Dooku fight was awesome in the game, so keep it the same pretty much. Also make the Republic Gunship playable you Michelangelo!
Revenge of the Sith
- 1. Battle Over Coruscant - Start it with a Battle of Coruscant section at the start obviously, and then have the actual first level afterwards. Personally I'd also add Anakin and Obi-Wan escorting the Chancellor and fighting the Magna Guards like in Complete Saga as well.
- Pre-Level - Jedi Temple
- 2. General Grievous - Add the chase scene with the Varactyl at the start and make it really cool and exciting, I don't know why this wasn't in the level. After that you could have the actual level that we got.
- Pre-Level - Senate Building
- 3. Execute Order 66 - Okay, that Palpatine fight idea goes hard! Definitely start the level with that Palpatine fight and have the player play as Palpatine and Anakin as a nice subversion of expectations. The cutscene was lame and it should've actually been playable like how you described it. Then the second half of the level could be The Droid Attack on the Wookies. Also make Agen Kolar and Saesee Tiin playable you freaks!
- Pre-Level - Coruscant Federal District
- 4. Senate Showdown - I know everyone wants this level and The High Ground to be combined but I think they can stand on their own just fine. Start the level with a bit in the Federal District where Yoda and Typho, and maybe Obi-Wan as well could be fighting Clone Troopers, and then have most the level be the Palpatine fight. I absolutely loved this boss fight in the game so I wouldn't really change anything honestly.
- Pre-Level - Padme's Apartment
- 5. The High Ground - First of all, remove C3-PO and R2-D2 please, they aren't needed. Just have it be like the Complete Saga where you're fighting your co-op partner, but obviously have it actually be accurate to the movie unlike Complete Saga. Removing the droids would already improve the level a ton and I think it would be a co-op masterpiece if done this way. However more action-packed than the Complete Saga where it's mostly just platforming. And one other thing that goes for all levels, make the platforming actually platforming instead of just pressing a button and the game doing everything for you. It feels like its designed for people who have never even heard of videogames.
Original Trilogy
Here's how I'd fix the Originals:
A New Hope
- 1. Boarding Party - This level can honestly stay the same. It actually feels like a proper level and it isn't too short at all.
- Pre Level - Jundland Wastes
- 2. Through the Jundland Wastes - Make this level kinda like the one in Complete Saga where you explore the sandcrawler and have to find C3-PO and R2-D2. It's one of my favorites from Complete Saga so seeing here it here could've been great.
- Pre Level - Mos Eisley
- 3. Mos Eisley Spaceport - Start the level with that one bit in the Complete Saga level where you're playing as Han and Chewy and you have to get to the landing zone while fighting off Stormtroopers. The fact that the level in Skywalker Saga only takes place in one room is kinda underwhelming so I think this would definitely benefit it. After that you could have the bit where you have to repair the Falcon. Also include the Imperial Spy boss fight and make him a playable character you morons!
- Pre-Level - Death Star
- 4. Rescue the Princess - I agree with your idea to combine both these levels. It would be a great way to make room for Through the Jundland Wastes and it would just make the game feel better paced and more fleshed out. It could've also been cool to see a split scenario with Ben Kenobi fighting Vader.
- Pre Level - Yavin 4
- 5. Stay on Target - Make this level a lot longer since in the game it feels really short and it's easily the weakest level in A New Hope.
Empire Strikes Back
- 1. Hoth and Cold - Keep this level mostly the same but make the platforming more interesting and less like it's made for Michelangelo and Crash Bandicoot. Also include the Wampa boss fight at the end instead of making it a lame cutscene.
- Pre Level - Echo Base
- 2. Assault on Echo Base - Definitely keep the vehicle portion at the start, however make the scene where Han, Chewy, Leia, and the droids have to escape an actual part of the level. It was a horrible idea to make it a pre-level especially since it's such an iconic level in Complete Saga. Also maybe this would be an opportunity for them to make the Hoth hub world the actual planet instead of the Echo Base since they could just put all that stuff here.
- Pre Level - Space
- 3. Falcon Flight - Keep the vehicle portion mostly the same, but have a bit where they are inside the Exogorth to make it a bit longer.
- Pre Level - Cloud City
- 4. Betrayal Over Bespin - Give this level more puzzles and just make it longer and you've already improved it a ton.
- Pre Level - Dagobah
- 5. Revelations - Luke's training on Dagobah being a pre-level was an absolutely atrocious idea and whoever decided to do it doesn't know anything about Star Wars or LEGO games. Start the level with a platforming bit on Dagobah kinda like in the pre-level but not made for literal 3 year olds, then have the boss fight between the Vader illusion in the cave. After that you can get into the actual Vader fight in Cloud City which can stay the same honestly. Also fix the free play, whoever designed the free play for this level should be taken outback and shot.
Return of the Jedi
- 1. Jabba's Palace - Combing this level with the sail barge seems like kind of a poor idea since it would just feel way too long and not very well paced. The Jabba's Palace level already feels long enough especially since there's 3 whole parts of the level unlike a lot of others where it's sometimes just one room. Also just remove the pre-level at the start and immediately begin with the level.
- Pre-Level - Jundland Wastes
- 2. Jabba's Sail Barge - Keep the first bit and the last bit, however add some more in the middle. The beginning and end are all there and the Jabba boss fight was a fun surprise, but it feels like it's missing a lot in between. Just make it like Complete Saga where you have to get across the Sail Barges, maybe have a callback to the Gammorean Guard disco, and you can end it with the Jabba boss battle.
- Pre-Level - Home One
- 3. Speeder Showdown - I hated this level in Complete Saga and I honestly thought that this was a massive improvement in quality. Maybe have an AT-AT boss fight like at the end of the Complete Saga level to make it a bit longer though.
- Pre-Level - Endor
- 4. Battle of Endor - Keep the start mostly the same, but definitely have it end with everyone breaking into the Death Star bunker like in Complete Saga.
- Pre-Level - Death Star II
- 5. Jedi Destiny - The Luke vs Vader in this level was amazing and it should definitely stay the same, but the Palpatine fight was super weak. Instead of it just being a lameass quick-time event, it should be an actual fight like in Complete Saga. After this section, have the second half of the level be Lando and Nien Numb destroying the Death Star II, but make it an actual fun mission unlike the horrible Complete Saga level.
Sequel Trilogy
Here's how I'd fix the Sequels:
Force Awakens
- 1. Escape From the Finalizer - The Assault on Taunal Village should've been the first quarter of the level instead of being a weird pre-level. Then they could've had the actual level that we got.
- Pre Level - Niima Outpost (Unrelated note, but make my boy Crusher Roodown playable!)
- 2. The Eravana - Add a slightly shorter version of Low Fly Garbage at the start of the level, and then have most of it be the Reap What You Solo level.
- Pre Level - Takodana (Make HURID-327 playable too!)
- 3. Battle of Takodana - This scene in the movie definitely should've been a level and it's kinda criminal that it was just a couple of lame hub events and then some cutscenes. Definitely have a boss fight with traitor and make it kinda like an updated version of the Force Awakens level.
- Pre Level - D'Qar
- 4. Starkiller Sabotage - Instead of the level just being the scene where they defeat Captain Phasma, there should've also been a platforming section with Rey and the mind controlled Stormtrooper kinda like the Force Awakens level.
- Pre Level - Starkiller Base (Make it an actual explorable planet please)
- 5. Destroying Starkiller Base - Add the bit with the thermal oscillators at the start, and then keep the rest of the level pretty much the same.
The Last Jedi
- 1. The Fulminatrix - Maybe make this level a bit longer but mostly keep it the same.
- Pre Level - Resistance Cruiser (Make this an actual capital ship please)
- 2. Canto Bight Breakout - Make this level much, much longer with way more interesting level design. Obviously have the animal chase at the end too.
- Pre Level - Ach-To
- 3. Jedi Training - I have no clue why this wasn't a level. The mirror cave section had some of the best puzzle design in the whole game and the fact that they decided to put it in the hub is embarrassing. The Luke boss fight at the end would've also been cool to have replayable.
- Pre Level - Supremacy (Make this an actual capital ship please)
- 4. Duel on the Supremacy - For this level, they should combine both the Praetorian Guard and Captain Phasma battles. This is the first and only time I'm gonna say this but make that stupid hallway bit at the start a pre-level. The fact that they made the Jango Fett fight a pre-level but made Kylo and Rey arguing in a hallway a level genuinely makes me question the developers' intelligence. Other than that, the rest of the level(s) can stay mostly the same. Maybe have the duel with Phasma be more than a generic quick-time event though.
- Pre Level - Crait
- 5. Assault on Crait - Maybe make the section at the end a bit longer, but other than that this level can stay mostly the same.
Rise of Skywalker
- 1. The Sinta Glacier - Definitely make the level more than just a lazy on-rails shooter with a stud farming gimmick. The idea you had about them traveling to all the locations in that silly quick-time event is really great though.
- Pre Level - Ajan Kloss
- 2. The Vexis Cave - Completely redo that stupid They Fly Now scene first of all. Instead of it being a mobile shooter game that you'd get an ad for when getting more energy in Injustice, this scene should've been designed more like Pirates where Troopers would come on to your speeder and you gotta fight them off and aim the cannons. It could've been amazing, but instead they didn't even try. Also the Vexis Cave bit should've been the main level instead of a useless pre level and meh part of the open world.
- Pre-Level - Kijimi (Make it an actual planet please)
- 3. Fixing C-3PO - Keep this level mostly the same honestly.
- Pre-Level - The Steadfast
- 4. Death Star Showdown - Keep this level mostly the same as well, maybe make it a bit longer.
- Pre-Level - Exegol
- 5. Battle of Exegol - Keep the Knights of Ren battle the same along with the bit on the Star Destroyers, but completely revamp the final boss. Instead of it being a horrible quick-time event like a lot of things in this game, it should be an actual final showdown with Rey and a bunch of force ghosts against Palpatine. Final note, make the force ghosts playable characters you freaking freaks!
